The system now works in hybrid mode allowing ticketless access for the majority, but with the backup of a ticket in the (unlikely) event of no LPR read. Payment at the pay station can then be made via your number plate or with a ticket.

The license plate reading data serves as digital ID for the vehicle, eliminating the risk of ticket loss and reducing the access time: free-flow transit improves operations efficiency, security and comfort.
Last, but not less interesting: through LPR and the related reporting, Westfield staff is able to collect valuable data about their customers (as allowed by applicable laws), which feed the shopping mall marketing activities.
