Excavations by archaeologists on Marawah island, 160 km west of Abu Dhabi city, have revealed the earliest village yet disclosed in the #UAE dating back to 8,000 years ago. Experts of the New York University Abu Dhabi believe it was the bountiful resources of the Arabian Gulf that likely convinced the ancient inhabitants of Marawah to settle down and thrive, becoming skilled jewellers, traders, and fishermen. They realised that the Gulf was an ‘superhighway’ that connected them to their neighbours, so they developed sophisticated ship technology to conduct trade and business.
Fast-forward to 2018, these exciting discoveries allow us to marvel at sophisticated Stone Age artifacts on display at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and wonder: what would the first Emiratis think of the modern-day skyline of the city? No doubt they would stand in awe of incredible buildings and stunning sky bridges such as Nation Towers’. Our colleague Daniele Pellegrini would be very glad to take them on a tour of another cutting-edge piece of this business center: the parking facility, fully equipped by HUB!
