Have you already heard about our SimplyNOWaste initiatives? At FAAC Technologies, our dedication to environmental sustainability runs deep. This commitment drives a range of initiatives aimed at making our internal operations more eco-friendly and positively impacting the environment around us. Lately, we’ve been cooking up quite a few actions that, in our small way, can make a big difference in making the world a better (and greener) place!
We started in our workplace, where we’re controlling the temperature of our spaces to reduce CO2 emissions and promote energy savings by simply adjusting thermostats to minimize heat loss.
Then, there’s the matter of single-use plastic packaging. Ever opened one of those oil packets and used just a small portion of what’s inside? Well, we certainly have, and we’ve decided to take action. So, we bid farewell to single-use packets in our company cafeteria and replaced them with dispensers that help us reduce plastic and paper waste. This action isn’t just a step toward waste reduction; it’s also a support for the broader project of the European Union to eliminate single-use packaging by 2027.
In our company restaurant, we’ve brought freshness to our days with the fresh fruit distribution project. For a good eight weeks, we’ve enjoyed a container filled with seasonal fruit daily, promoting healthy snacking and supporting local produce.
And what about our packaging? We’re going to extra mile to reduce, reuse, and recycle everything we can. Just take a look at these numbers: thanks to digital instruction reduction, we’ve saved a whopping 112 tons of paper in just one year! And reusable containers have allowed us to avoid using 4 tons of cardboard. Through the re-cig project, we’ve recycled 3 kg of cigarette stubs, saving the equivalent of 10,000 liters of water. And let’s not forget about plastic packaging: we’ve transitioned from polystyrene to paper and cardboard packaging, even repurposing reusable materials to create Christmas decorations for our offices!
Our responsibility extends beyond our company walls to the environments inhabited by our people. Once again, this year, we’ve actively engaged in the “Puliamo il Mondo” (Clean the World) initiative, dedicating time and energy to cleaning up and collecting waste in areas outside our company premises. Beyond being a significant bonding moment for our entire team, this initiative embodies our values of community care and environmental respect, which we aim to promote and spread across all levels of our company and beyond our doors.
