Ahead of the season start, the car park of the LEGOLAND California Resort is perfectly capable of handling peaks of traffic while ensuring a quick entrance and exit. How?
Thanks to the Global Frame Agreement signed by HUB UK with Merlin Entertainments, several of their theme parks in Europe and USA are being upgraded with the most advanced free flow parking technology. LEGOLAND California Resort comes second after the New York resort, and it is equally beautiful!
The unique frictionless experience on the parking lanes is enabled by Jupiter systems, paired with LPR cameras by Survision, and overarching JMS management software. The system configuration also includes robust gates by Magnetic at exit lanes, again paired with license plate recognition technology: the camera captures the license plate, matches with the management software information in real time, and decides to open the gate if prepaid or to activate a pay station otherwise.
Take a look at the smart features of this system:
Advanced data reporting and analysis: every transit (and transaction) brings operational information about the user, which can build up into many reporting streams, to analyze pattern insights and achieve a better understanding of the operations. Parking data have become an invaluable tool for LEGOLAND.
Pre-booking - as easy as a breeze: the parking pass can be purchased together with the entrance tickets. The LPR cameras will associate the correct license plate with the ticket payment, and allow the vehicle in.
Gateless free-flow entrance - no queuing at the entry lanes, which means less traffic congestion, pollution, and safety hazards. Again, the LPR camera captures the license plate while the vehicle is driving (at adequate speed) to the car park, and connects with the management system to interrogate and temporarily store the data.
LPR-based Exit for Prepaid tickets - the camera catches the license plate and opens the gate if prepaid, or directs the driver to the pay station.
Kudos to HUB teams and Survision for the beautiful work!
