Chase Paymentech, a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase and a global leader in payment processing, has recently certified HUB Parking Technology’s contactless POS application in Canada which provides the best in secure payment solutions.
HUB Parking Technology has always been focused on innovation and secure payments. In 2010, HUB Parking Technology Canada was the first to introduce to the Canadian market the first generation of MSD based Contactless solutions partnering with The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) in the City of Toronto. The Toronto Parking Authority implemented contactless payment in all 43 Parking Garage locations across the city providing an extra level of security to all contactless payments through credit card. Furthermore, HUB Parking Technology deployed over 200 contactless terminals in Canada.
Today HUB Parking Technology Canada is the first and only company in the parking industry in Canada that has been able to achieve the certification process of Chase Paymentech EMV Contactless solutions, using ID Tech VivoPay KIOSK II and Tender Retail middleware. The certification is in accordance with industry business guidelines for payment processing. The application is fully certified for Card brands VISA Pay Wave and MasterCard under the following specifications: VISA 1VSDC2.0 and Pay Pass LMP_FIM_1411_091
With contactless payments, drivers can simply wave their card close to the contactless terminal to gain access to the parking lot, thus delivering speed and convenience while offering the built in security benefits. The solution employs EMV chip technology, which is based on encryption technology, to securely store and encrypt confidential information. When a customer uses a contactless terminal, the card and the terminal reader exchange security information and the transaction is completed, all in less than one-third of a second. Cardholders do not need to swipe their card or let it out of their possession, keeping the transaction quick and secure.
