HUB Italia is proud to participate as a sponsor in the second edition of the New Mobility Messina event.
During a press conference today at Palazzo Zanca, the "Challenge of the Strait," the evocative competition to be held on Saturday, December 16, was presented with the mayors of Messina Federico Basile and Villa San Giovanni Giusy Caminiti as drivers. Among the competitors are Jimmy Ghione, Giovanna Sannino, Silvia Bosurgi and Andrea Gibelli.
The Challenge of the Strait consists of a unique triathlon kermesse with full-electric smart e-cup racing cars, e-Bikes and electric scooters provided by the Messina Municipal Police. Mayors Basile and Caminiti, envoy Jimmy Ghione, actress Sannino, Olympic champion Silvia Bosurgi, and FNM S.p.A. and ASSTRA President Andrea Gibelli, in the guise of drivers, will be engaged in the competition to be held on the city circuit set up for the occasion on San Martino Avenue, and will take turns driving full-EV cars (smart e-cup), e-bikes and scooters.
On the occasion of the Strait Challenge, buses and streetcars will be free throughout the day.
The goal of the Challenge and the whole event is to promote the city's change toward a mobility that is increasingly sustainable, including through "moments of fun and healthy cheerfulness," as ATM President Giuseppe Campagna effectively summarizes. The city administration believes in a different mobility with alternative systems such as scooters, bicycles and electric vehicles.
A representative from HUB Italia will attend the competition and be available for insights on parking technologies, the ideal design of a facility, and any doubts the citizenry may have on the use of an interchange parking lot-the first fundamental step to efficient and sustainable mobility.
